Strength test for the spinal erector
In a prone position, arms behind the head, backward bending;
buttock and leg muscles as relaxed as possible, so that the legs and pelvis maintain contact with the supporting surface.
An inability to lift the sternum from the floor whilst bending backwards indicates a weakening of the spinal erector

Stretching test for the upper parts of the anterior fixators
(pectoralis minor):
In a supine position, on a bench or table edge, flat on the shoulder blades,
Move the test arm up to a right angle with the thumb pointing upwards
A failure of the arm to reach the horizontal position indicates a shortening of the upper portions (pectoralis minor) of the anterior shoulder girdle fixators.
